Counselling and Child Protection Department

Social Worker

Period: One-year fixed term (Renewal)

Location: Sinomine, Tsumeb

Minimum Requirements

  • B A degree in Social work, with 5 years' experience in the field
  • Registration as a Social worker with the social worker and Psychology Council
  • A valid driver's license (Code B)
  • Have a valid designation certificate

Supplementary Requirements

  • Knowledge and Experience in Child Protection and Case Management
  • Extensive experience in Mental Health and Counselling
  • Experience in project coordination and management

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic coordination for employee wellness and child protection on-site at Sinomine. Coordinate child protection program development and strategic growth of child protection to ensure targets and goals are met.
  • Control and supervise the work of social worker and ensure they are scheduled according to requirements
  • Review and update social work and child protection documentation regularly for completeness and accuracy

Accountant

  • Experience of Pastel Accounting software
  • Recording of invoices on the Pastel System

LifeLine/ChildLine Namibia is a registered Welfare Organisation (WO 150) with its Mission to assist in providing a more ‘safer, healthier, more resilient children, families and communities in Namibia’. LifeLine/ChildLine has strong Child Protection and Gender Programs, providing services to the community through Counselling, Helplines (116 & 106), Training, Community Outreach and Advocacy. Our programs are in line with and supportive of Government priorities. The organization also carries out fundraising programs and activities designed towards strengthening the sustainability of the organization. We are seeking applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Community Based Facilitators for the Education Department under the School Readiness Initiative aimed at improving the School Readiness of Children and Smoothen Transition from informal ECD education to formal primary education in Namibia.

Report to: Regional Project Office

Duty station: Hardap (1x Rehoboth, 1x Mariental, 1x Aranos) Kavango East (1x Ndonga Linena, 1x Katere, 1x Thipanana) Kavango West (1x Mpungu, Mburuuru)

Duration:18-month Contract (15 February 2025 – 31 August 2026)

Closing Date: 24 January 2025

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Knowledge of English and a minimum one other local language

  • Experience in community mobilization, facilitation is an advantage.
